How do you ensure my gear sells?
We give your gear maximum exposure by showcasing it where buyers are looking:
- Professional Listings: High-quality photos with detailed, engaging descriptions.
- Targeted Platforms: Items are listed on Google Merchant, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and our search engine-optimized website.
- Social Media: We feature gear on our growing Facebook page and Instagram feed.
- Community & Newsletter: We connect with a local network of mountain sports enthusiasts and feature gear in our growing email newsletter.
We combine smart marketing with the right platforms to get your gear seen and sold fast.
What happens if my gear doesn’t sell right away?
If an item hasn’t sold after 90 days and has received little interest or negative feedback, we may adjust the price to increase its chances of selling.
- AGS reserves the right to lower the price by up to 20% after 90 days if necessary.
- Further adjustments are rare but may occur after 180 days, with reductions of up to 30%.
Price changes aren’t common unless an item is clearly overpriced or hasn’t generated interest. Our goal is always to get your gear sold at the best price possible.
How is pricing determined?
We use a sophisticated pricing approach to ensure your gear is priced competitively and fairly:
- We scour the internet for comparable items—new, used, or similar—that have sold or are currently listed across the United States.
- We leverage artificial intelligence and purpose-built consignment software to analyze market trends, local demand, and recent sales data.
- Our experienced team adds a human touch to review and finalize the price WITH YOU, ensuring it reflects both value and demand.
This process guarantees your gear is priced to sell quickly while still maximizing your earnings.
Can I list my gear elsewhere while it’s with AGS?
When you consign gear with AGS, it must be listed exclusively with us. This ensures:
- No Buyer Confusion: Conflicting listings on multiple platforms can create confusion and damage trust.
- Focused Marketing: Exclusivity allows us to confidently invest time and effort into marketing your gear.
- Better Results: Buyers know they’re dealing with a trusted source, which increases the chances of a quick sale.
Listing gear elsewhere undermines the value we provide and may result in the termination of our agreement.
